EuroJackpot game principles
On the EuroJackpot playing ticket, five numbers between 1 and 50 are initially ticked. Then, in a second field, two “Euro numbers” between 1 and 10 are selected. Game participation costs 2.00 euros per filled out playing field (7 ticks). The more one’s own numbers match the winning numbers, the higher the winning amount will be. In addition to the jackpot, one has the chance to win money in 11 additional prize categories.
EuroJackpot prize money
The winnings for the EuroJackpot are among the largest in Europe. For each drawing, the minimum jackpot is 10 million euros. For every week in which there is no grand prize winner, the winning amount in the jackpot grows. The maximum jackpot amount is 90 million euros. If, upon reaching this upper limit, a win in the first prize category is not established, the prize money is distributed to the next prize level.
The drawing of the EuroJackpot winning numbers takes place every Friday at 9:00 p.m. (EET) in Helsinki. Supervision by the police and a notary provides for the smooth functioning of the drawing. Starting at around 11:00 p.m., the winning numbers are published on the Internet. The playing tickets are evaluated and the odds of winning are established in Denmark and Germany. A video recording of the current drawing can be viewed here.
